• Business Dilemma:
  The Israeli Government published Government Resolution 4753, which aims to increase the use of government information for the purpose of improving government policy, promote research at the state institutions, and increase the effectiveness of government actions. As part of this decision, it was decided to establish a government data lake in the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), as a supportive research infrastructure for advanced data driven policies.
  TASC was asked by CBS to assist in planning this unified data infrastructure’s architecture.

  While collaborating with various government ministries and conducting best practice research for advanced data solutions, our data team designed the unified data infrastructure’s architecture.
  The team also reviewed a variety of technologies and tools that will assemble and support the various layers of the unified data infrastructure, including data warehouses, ETL tools, orchestration tools, data catalogs, and more.

• Business Dilemma:
  The Israeli government is promoting the concept of “smart city”, while assisting in the digital transformation of municipalities and local councils.The project’s goal was to develop an integrated framework for digital transformation in the municipal arena

• Process:
  The first step on the project was to map “smart city” applications and solutions and creating a diagram of smart city applications. Afterwards, our team conducted interviews with relevant stakeholders operating in the municipal sector and promoting technology and digital platforms. Next, the team mapped the municipal sector ecosystem, including challenges and opportunities for each player and created local government segmentation. The process ended with a virtual workshop for stakeholders in order to create a future vision while discussing issues and dilemmas, as a basis for creating an integrative action plan

• Business Dilemma:
  As part of the master plan for cargo transportation, the Ministry of Transportation seeks to promote the implementation of a digital overland consignment note for heavy cargo and dangerous goods. TASC was approached by MOT’s contractor, who sought to better understand the Israeli market by identifying challenges and barriers in the business, technological, cultural and regulatory aspects

• Process:
  Our team started with mapping the Israeli trucking market, including a taxonomy of trucking companies and types of cargo, and conducting interviews with key market players on the business side and the state side. The next step was to conduct a benchmark on similar initiatives and characterization of possible alternatives. Then we conducted an analysis of the alternatives using a methodological framework of 5 aspects: solution architecture, data model, governance, financing, and regulation. The process ended with the selection of preferred alternative and detailed characterization based on the 5 layers

  TASC characterized a hybrid solution alternative that details the nature of the solution in the five layers:
  • The proposed solution architecture alongside the supporting platform and broadcast data structure

  Our client was offered to join a digital banking initiative. TASC was asked to validate the reasonableness of the digital bank’s business plan in light of the current competitive landscape and the planned value proposition

• Process:
  First, our team comprehensively analyzed the banking needs of 30 population segments, based on in-depth interviews and a long-term CBS survey. Then, the team estimated the penetration rate and prices for the new initiative based on the attractiveness of the value proposition for each segment.   Many organizations and public sector offices have processes and services for the public or regulation purposes in need of improvement, development for digital transformation or a need for a fresh outlook for future public use.
  TASC has worked extensively in leading processes to develop and improve services and products in a short time, using the Design Sprint methodology.
  With our expertise and deep knowledge and understanding of the public sector, TASC has developed a method of a one -day workshop process tailored to the unique needs of the public sector.
  The Sprint workshops are planned to address subjects such as Service, Product and Venture development; programs for ultra-orthodox women in the public sector, developing a service portal for regulation reports, improving the process of renewing disabled parking badge, etc.

• Process:
  The Digital and Service Design team prepares the tailor-made workshops, first by studying and mapping the relevant process and eco-system to be discussed in the workshop. Then they visually map the current state of things while mapping the key interfaces, pain points and needs of both the organization and users’ sides.
  During the Sprint, the participants study the map to detect and decide on the challenges to focus on in the workshop. Using the Design Sprint methodology, the facilitator together with the group, goes through the six stages of the sprint process, from Understanding the challenge to Defining it by allocating opportunities, ideate and Sketch new concepts and Decide on a new user journey and improved service blueprint. In the end, a clickable prototype is created by the TASC team in order to Validate the new product or service with potential users and to collect insights for future development.

• Project outcomes
  At the end of a Design Sprint workshop, in just a day or two of teamwork, the participants go through a whole development process which in usual methods could take up to months or even years of work.
  The outcome of the Sprint workshop is a Blueprint that maps the future process designed, showing the resources needed for the development from the technological, regulatory and operative aspects, and helps in prioritize accordingly, in order to create an implementation work plan.

• Business Dilemma
  TASC was asked to characterize and design the personal area interface with the aim of developing it as an accessible interface tailored to the needs of various users, with emphasis on improving the user experience and creating a positive service experience. The personal area is a digital product designed to allow users to manage their personal tax affairs with independence and security. The personal area project is an infrastructure for future extensive digital transformation, its new design serves as a guideline for future digital services.  The new personal area will function as a gateway to carry out all the online tax actions and as a tool for following those actions after they have been implemented, to get feedback, etc.

• Process
  The first step in designing the personal area was to map the existing information architecture in order to understand what the new hierarchy should be, considering the insights we had from extensive user research previously conducted by TASC. An international Benchmark was held on personal area interfaces and references found were used in designing the new architecture flow. Then we started mapping the different usage cases of the main categories, those user scenarios led us in extending the user flow to cover all needs of the user when using the personal area.
  When we finally had the entire structure of the different users flow; employees, business owners, company owners, and representative bodies, we started designing the different user experiences.
  Building for each persona detailed wireframes considering their needs when choosing which data to present and how to present it in the most accessible way.

  The final delivery of this project was a detailed design of the entire personal area, with a clickable prototype, detailed design guidelines (UI) and a full product characterization document, which detailed the experience perspective of the product, ready to be developed by the technical teams.

• Business Dilemma:
  There are over 1.4 million people with disabilities in Israel today, and in an aging society, most of us are expected to live to the age where we will experience disability ourselves.
  Today, the various transportation services in Israel are not well suited to give service to people with disabilities. Increasing access to transport services is a key condition for independent living and integration into the workforce and the community.
  In this project, TASC was asked to map the needs of people with disabilities and difficulties in mobility, combining the Strategic and Digital & Service design teams in order to formulate solutions to would serve as a basis for creating accessible transportation for all, and prioritize the solutions according to potential impact and economic requirements.

• Process:
  Our multidisciplinary team set out to do User research as part of the Service Design methodology and began with field interviews of users with disabilities to map their user journeys, after analyzing the findings they formulated an eco-system map and user personas with journey maps in order to characterize the solutions needed. A survey with more than six thousand respondents was conducted to further the team’s knowledge on the user needs and to provide quantitative information alongside the in-depth interviews. The research for mobility solutions including an existing status review, literature review, and Best-Practices study in Ireland, Singapore, and the US. A Long-List of Relevant Solutions was curated and brought to the table for discussion.
  Solution prioritization was done according to the “Impact-Applicability” methodology, which examines the solution cost (cost per passenger) and the complexity of the application with respect to the expected impact on mobility.

  A list of prioritized solutions for accessible mobility and transportation was presented to a government committee alongside the stories of user personas with characterized solutions suiting a wide range of needs belonging to people with disabilities.
  The solutions have been put into motion for development in a government R&D start-up hub as the main challenge for 2020.

• Business Dilemma
  Just like an excellent design or accurate characterization, language is an integral part of the user experience. Choosing certain words over others will affect how users estimate the level of communication with the service provider, interact with the product, and perceive his impression of the entire organization. TASC accompanied a tax services organization through the process of designing the organization’s voice and tone and renewing the professional ‘TAX language’ that was used for many years and wasn’t understandable for the general public. This process provided tools and guidelines for creating a more humanoid, welcoming and pleasant user experience.

• Process
  Designing the voice and tone guidelines is a four-step process; We began with conducting ideation workshops where the organization higher management answered together for deep questions such as what the organization’s personality and characteristics are, and what is its leading values which the organization would like to present to the public. The second step was conducting language research by making observations in the organization branches and support call center, to identify key terms that are not understandable to users, and how they deal with them, by translating those terms into their own words and to a more accessible language. We were also focused on reviewing and analyzing official forms, hard copy documents, digital forms and digital communication scripts to analyze the current language state. The third step was to create the voice and tone guidance document which includes principles and rules for writing texts in various media. To make the guidelines easier to use, we added a chapter of ‘do’s and don’ts’ regarding the tax language, adding recommendations for tool tips and explanations to add for professionals terms.
  At the end we were conducting assimilation workshops with management-level employees to introduce them with the tool kit and guidelines.

• Project outcome
  The voice and tone guidance document contained the project’s outcomes, such as  the summary of the organization’s personality characterization, findings of the language research and field observations, and survey analysis conducted among experts in the user experience community and users of taxation services. The main outcome in the guide is the tool kit and detailed examples of the Do’s and Don’ts rules, and recommendations on how to further explain common professional tax expressions in a way that will be self-explanatory and understandable to the general public.

  After a Benchmark of international solutions addressing the digital zone of job and career searches and outlooks, our Digital and Service Design team set out to meet potential users as part of the User Research methodology in order to map the needs of young people at different career stages (before further education, students and graduates) to characterize an interface that accurately and optimally presents existing information. The team met with a variety of users country wide of different ages, socio-economic state and career/study stages and interviewed them. The next stage was to analyze the qualitative research done in the interviews to define, design and showcase the website wireframes.

  Next, using Service design methodology, they Conducted interviews and observations with people with disabilities, Care Givers and accompanying experts.
  To reach a wide range of users an online survey was conducted, followed by carrying out user research including characterization of personas, building a value map, mapping customer needs and holding a one-day interactive workshop for stakeholders and users.Concluding the research process the team set to identify the challenges, needs, pain points and opportunities in the lacking of existing process and building a future customer journey map.

  A concept for a solution including a business model and an implementation plan was developed for a digital service, designed with the look and feel of an e-commerce site with the reliability of a medical service, to enable accessibility and adaptability connecting between a person with a disability with the correct assistive technology for their needs, with emphasis on home-based use.

  TASC has been asked by Digital Israel directorate to develop a digital strategy for the National Insurance Institute of Israel, to improve service and functionality.- The National Insurance Institute operates with outdated methods and tools that do not allow optimal customer service.- As a result, claims handling times are longer than desired and clerks spend much of their time processing paperwork.- In addition, the institution has large unused database, with potential for improving decision making and customer service.

  The bank wanted to create an innovative concept that will increase brand differentiation and support the bank’s continued high customer recruitment rate, and turned to TASC to get assistance in developing a new digital concept.

• Process:

  The process of governmental legislation is outdated, cumbersome and inefficient, and includes many unsynchronized systems, which do not integrate, making it almost impossible to manage and control the legislation procedure. The client turned to TASC to accompany the MOJ in designing a new digital legislation system to increase the productivity and transparency of the legislation procedure.

  The company suffered from high dependency on traditional sales channels, most of which are held by competing importers. The company wished to develop direct channels that can reduce this dependency and increase sales, and therefore approached TASC, which assisted the company’s management in setting the future strategy and entering the online retail market.

  First, the TASC team performed an international benchmark for ‘best practices’ – focusing on consumer value propositions, differentiation of direct channels, and relevant business models. Digital transformation of a crucial decision-making process in the Criminal Justice system

• Business Dilemma:
  The client faced a bulky and challenging work process, which included collecting large amounts of data from various unsynchronized databases within a limited time frame and with obsolete technological capabilities. The client turned to TASC to accompany the digital transformation process with emphasis on identifying the ideal potential technological partners for POC and the development of an advanced Intelligent AI-based Decision Support System (DSS).

• Process:
  The project started with in-depth interviews with the organization’s management level and the designated end-users of the AI system, to identify their needs and to map the current process and its challenges. Then. the team validated the feasibility of the solution by locating global precedents for the use of DSS and AI technologies in legal systems, through extensive international benchmark and in-depth interviews with people in key positions, who promoted the development and implementation of such platforms in their local justice systems. Formation of digital distribution channels strategy for Israel’s largest food manufacturer

• Business Dilemma:
  Recent trends, including the growth of e-commerce activity, have led the company to review its current channels strategy and seek alternative channels. Considering this, the company sought TASC’s help in building an alternative distribution strategy.

• Process:
  The project included thorough market research based on an international and local benchmark of the food online market.
